With Style & Grace.

My darling Grandma turned 94 last week. I've been thinking a lot about age. Long life. Growing old. Certainly one can take the plastic surgery route that so often turns out looking sad. I feel terrible for a woman that has been pulled & tucked so many times she no longer resembles herself & hardly a human. I see those women as being so scared. So insecure. I find it very sad. {I say this without an ounce of judgement for their choices, it's their choice, & it may have been the best choice for them, who am I to judge.}

My Grandma is incredible. She's aged gracefully & beautifully. I've watched her wavy hair turn from a dark grey to a gorgeous silver. She wears dresses nearly everyday. I can only think of a couple of times she wore pants, & even then she wore panty hose. She always has a great piece of jewelry on. Even sitting around the house all day. It's a mindset that seems to have been lost through various generations. I'd like to see it brought back, at least a bit.

Style is important. No matter the age. No matter the body type. Or even gender.

Of course while wrapping my head around the concept of getting everyone to make an effort with their style & appearance I went over to the Advanced Style blog to eye those inspirational beauties. I hope to have an ounce of their style when I'm 94. That's the goal after all, to age gracefully & to continue embracing personal style.

& we can't forget the men. Same holds true for them.
