For this 1956 Mid-Century Modern home we did a complete remodel for P&G Homes while maintaining many existing features and style. We took the original architecture and opened it up. Lining up windows symmetrically and adding windows in new places created a new light and bright feel to the home. We were able to fill in sunken rooms that were popular in the era of the home but created a tripping hazard in modern living. The white walls and cork flooring throughout pull the home together in a modern flow.
Our remodel plans focused on maintaining the original vision of the home while restoring and making it work for a modern family. This included reducing tiny spaces and combining them to create a large master suite with walk-in closet. The adjacent structure in the back was completely restored to create space for a home office or guest quarters.
In restoring beautiful old homes our first priority is to maintain the historic character originally intended while also making the spaces feel modern and functional for today’s lifestyle.
