Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin
When we moved to Berlin in 2017 we quickly fell in love with an Altbau (old building) apartment in the Prenzlauer Berg area of Berlin, specifically Helmholtz Kiez. While the design of my home is of supreme importance it’s also not my focus while we’re in Berlin. I say that to mention that nearly everything in our place is what we’ve already had just arranged differently. Secondarily we were renting so I’ve made no changes to the structure save for light fixtures and the kitchen.
The tight color palette centers on colors from nature with one or two pops in each space, all revolving around green tones. Comfort and space for our friends and family were top priorities. As is having an adult feeling space that my son also feels at home in.
